Ms. Nena Naji

Nena is our Maid of Honor and our "matchmaker." Honestly, without her, there is no us and that's facts! Our resident babysitter, double date partner, and shared football mom, Nena has been a staple in both of our lives! We both have known Nena since our college days as she is a member of Virginia State University's "Woo Woo" cheer squad, which is how Natalie and Nena became best friends. Courtney's relationship with her developed at college and post-college having spent many nights on her couch after a long day at the work when he started at the fire academy. We couldn't imagine not having her by our side for our special day. We love you Nena!

Ms. Nadia Bowen

Nadia is Natalie's younger sister and resident creative. She is Natalie's go-to when discussing decor, relationships, and all things food. Natalie couldn't imagine not having her by her side on one of the biggest days in her life.

Mrs. Alana Gidron

Natalie and Alana have been best friends since high school. Natalie's journey through womanhood has been dually shared with Alana. The salt to her pepper, Alana has always been a loyal and trustworthy friend. From college to careers and now marriage, they have met so many milestones together and this is the next BIG one for Natalie and she couldn't do it without her day 1 hun and Matron of Honor.

Mrs. Rosalie Webster

Rosalie, "Rosie", and Natalie met in college during her freshman year. They instantly connected and have been inseparable ever since. Natalie and Rosie have shared many memories, from starting their first jobs to our party hay-days at club Duvet and now embarking on lives as wives. Natalie couldn't imagine not having Rosie by her side as her Matron of Honor on this very special day.

Ms. Jessica Wisdom-Cofie

Jessica and Natalie met in 2002, Jessica's freshman year at Virginia State University and Natalie's sophomore year. Natalie and Jessica instantly connected as they were members of 3 social organizations at VSU, namely the "Woo Woo" cheerleading squad. Jessica is Natalie's road trip partner and can tell stories for days about their journeys up and down I95 to and from college, especially the story about Courtney and Natalie's first date.

Mrs. Deirdra Clement

Deirdra and Natalie are what we call "spirit sisters". They made the "Woo Woo" cheer squad the same year and have been close friends ever since. Deirdra has always been a sucker for love and romance and has always been a "cheerleader" for Courtney and Natalie.

Mrs. Antoinette Thomas

Natalie recently played a role in Antoinette's, "Toni's", forever as her bridesmaid, and now Toni will serve in the same role. Toni and Natalie were also members of the VSU's "Woo Woo" cheer squad and have been connected ever since.

Mrs. Debra Lee Harris

Debra and Natalie have been friends since their freshman year of college at Virginia State University. Debra is the reason why Natalie has her driver's license. Always her rider, Debra has been a staple in Natalie's life and she is ecstatic to have her by her side on her special day.

Ms. Gia Harris

Gia and Natalie have been friends since their freshman year at Virginia State University. Gia has been Natalie's source of fun-filled experiences through their various travels from Miami to Jamaica and she is thrilled to share her special day with this good-girlfriend!

McKenzie Thompson - Flower Girl

Bringing beautiful petals to the aisle is Courtney's God-daughter and our Flowergirl, McKenzie Thompson. McKenzie brings her love for baby dolls and all things Minnie Mouse to Natalie & Courtney's wedding party and they are so happy to have her be a part of their celebration.

Mr. Eugene Russell-Roach

Eugene “Geno” and Courtney met during their freshman year at Virginia State University in 2002. They’ve grown as fathers and men and share in being real-life heroes as members of the DC Fire Department. Geno has always been Courtney’s libra scale, ensuring his life is well-balanced. In other words, he’s the one that makes sure he gets home after one of those “litty” nights! lol Geno has always been Courtney’s number 1 when seeking personal and professional advice and it’s for this reason among others, that he’s chosen him as his Best Man to stand by his side on his big day!

Mr. Iboro Akpan

Courtney and Iboro “IB”, also known as his "brother from another", have been friends since their freshman year at Virginia State University. Courtney’s source of football rivalry, IB has been a good friend of his since their meeting in college. While they may disagree on which team is better, (insert the Cowboys here), Courtney couldn’t say “I do” without his Day 1 by his side.

Mr. Keith Thompson

Keith and Courtney have shared a friendship spanning 15+ years. Keith also attended Virginia State University and according to him, is the most intelligent of all Courtney’s friends. Courtney had the honor of playing a role in his forever at Keith’s wedding in 2013 and now Keith will serve in that same role in December 2021

Mr. Jordan Smith

Hailing from Delaware, Jordan has been another great friend to Courtney. Despite their disagreements and petty football grievances, Jordan has been a reliable and supportive friend of Courtney’s; if it isn’t helping to secure a spot at Summer Camp for Quincy and Zachary, he’s the “uncle” that has picked them up from school on more than one occasion. Jordan also attended Virginia State University and prefers the Eagles over the Cowboys - a debate the often leads to early am wake up calls and blocked responses when they win, especially if they beat the Cowboys! lol

Mr. John Thompson

John and Courtney’s friendship began dating back to the earlier parts of the 2000’s.They’re also both members of the DC Fire Department and share their fandom of the Dallas Cowboys. John and Courtney’s relationship has stood the test of time, from becoming fathers and now husbands, they’ve been through thick and thin and Courtney is proud to have him by his side on his big day!

Mr. Ishmael Stewart

Ishmael “Ish” and Courtney have been friends since they attended Virginia State University. They both serve for the fire departments in the cities in which they live, Ish in NYC and Courtney in DC. Ish has been a loyal friend of Courtney’s and he’s happy to have him by his side on his big day!

Mr. Abdul Jabbie

Abdul and Courtney have been friends since their freshman year at Virginia State University. One memorable moment at VSU sealed the bond of their friendship. Needless to say, if Courtney is ever in a jam, he can count on Abdul to have his back, literally. Thankfully, this time no cuts or bruises are involved. lol

Zachary Barnes - Ring Security

Zachary is Courtney and Natalie's youngest son who has been the family's source of laughter and love. He is ecstatic to witness the marriage of his mom and dad and will be sure to secure the "bling" for their BIG Day!

Quincy Barnes - Ring Security

Quincy is Courtney and Natalie's eldest son and avid reader and Playstation Gamer. Determined to surpass both his mother's and father's vocabulary retention, Quincy prides himself on knowing much about animals and the human body. Quincy has been the family's source of comfort, love, and compassion and is super excited to watch mommy walk down the aisle to finally be united in holy matrimony to daddy. Quincy will also ensure that the "bling" is secured alongside his younger brother, Zachary.
