I started working for Northwell in 2014 (NSLIJ at the time) and been there for two months before they asked me to train the new hire, Jose. Working so closing together lead us to becoming best friends. It took us two years to actually hang out outside of work, and another two years for him to say "I love you" for the first time. I am one of the lucky ones as I get to marry my best friend.

I always envisioned proposing to Katie Carey by a roaring fire, which I had already planned for. After spending a wonderful evening in Lake George, where we dined out on the lake, she decided to pass out right after we returned to our cabin, at 8pm... It was our last night there and last chance to get it done. I proceeded to wake her up ever so gently with one of our go-to songs and lured her out to the balcony where I strung lights across the balcony railing. As I professed my love for her, a noise arose from the lake that startled her. After reassuring her everything is fine, I continued professing my love to her and how much she means so much to me, the sound came back yet again but this time startling her even more so that she turns her whole body to the sound. As she begins to turn back, I was already on one knee and began to ask her if she would marry me. And the rest is video history...
