Our Story
So it all started at Fabellous Beauty Lounge. I was bringing the owner -T Bell- some food and this lil hungry lady was there. I was paying her no mind. I dropped the food off, laughed, tripped and dipped. A few hours later Terica hit me up and I was thinking it was about the food, but no! She was like I want you to go on a blind date. "Blind date? Mane, hell naw. I ain’t doing $#!+ blind lol. God granted vision so why would I go into a blind situation." She then goes on to ask if I’m still in a relationship. "No! I actually ended it two days ago. Yup two days ago - it’s over." She didn’t even ask if I needed time to grieve. She says cool and continues “you’re going on this blind date.” I said F it. Cool, I’ma try this thing out. I asked, “how does she look?” T Bell says, “cool, you’ll like her”, and that was it. Fellas, y’all know what I’m thinking *Ques Usher - figure I’d hit it just one night”- lol. So me and Erica get each other’s number from Terica. We talk and decide to meet up for lunch at Pyros. Yes, Pyros Pizza! Hell, I wasn’t about to spend big and she wasn’t something I was going to continue with. You gone get this $12 pizza and salad until I see what’s good. While waiting for her to arrive, I wasted time in the vitamin shop next door. This was so I could get a heads up on what to expect. I was on the phone with my guy, Mayo, and she walks up. I see her fine a%$ get out the car and walks pass, all while she’s calling me. “Bro she is thhhhaa thaaa thaaa thick. I’ll hit ya back. We good”…. I then go in Pyros. I’m a gentleman, so I treat her to an entree pizza and a drink - splurged on her a little - ya diggg. Next thing you know I’m at the crib… lemme call mama, “Mama I thought I was moving back temporarily after the break up, but I am good. I’m in love.” Bam, now here we are pregnant and getting married…. All facts here. ALL FACTS.
– Will’s Story
Now for the real story! October 4, 2017, I was minding my business at Fabellous Beauty Lounge, getting pampered. All of a sudden, I smelled food. Y'all know I love to eat! lol My hair stylist, Terica, came from the back with a meal and I asked where she purchased it from. She proceeds to tell me that she orders meals from WillPrepped and mid-way through the conversation, as I'm trying to get the details to start purchasing food, she was like "OMG! I know the perfect person for you. I'm about to set you up on a blind date."I'm like, "Nooooo, I'm good girl. For real, I am. Please don't. I'm not interested in dating anyone at the moment. Been there, done that. These men are crazy out here. lol" IYKYK She pays me no attention, proceeds to call this guy, and tells him that she wants to set him up on a blind date. He's asking all types of questions. "How does she look?" Does she have hair? Is she at the shop now?" Terica's like yes, here she go. She hands me the phone. I'm in shock at this point. We talk briefly and he asks could we meet up today. I told him no. I had plans. But really, I just needed to pick up my girls from school. I didn't know this guy to tell him my business and definitely didn't have time to chit chat, because I just knew I wasn't going to call him. Terica ended up giving him my number anyway. The next day, October 5, 2017, I'm upstairs working. Again minding my business. I get a call from a random number. It was lunch time, so I answered it. ....And it was the guy! OMG. Now why did I answer the phone? I usually don't, especially if you're not saved in my contacts. He tells me his name is JayR and I'm like, what's your real name? He told me he was a Jr and his first name is actually Will. We chatted for a couple of minutes, and he asked what I was up to. Told him I was heading downstairs to make food. He then proceeds to ask me if I was interested in meeting him for lunch. I was straight up with him at this point. Told him, I've been divorced almost a year. I have two girls that need my attention, I just ended a 5-month courtship with a crazy dude, I'm not interested in dating and everything else to turn him off. His reply, after all of that was, "it's just lunch." I was like what the heck. I'll go. I'm hungry. Lemme get this free meal. lol Told him I'm coming as I am. In my mind, I'm looking bummy. He was like "Ok, that's fine. What do you have a taste for? What area should we meet?" I told him somewhere on Germantown Pkwy or Hwy 64 is fine. We ended up choosing Pyro's and I headed out the door. I texted my sister and friend that I was heading to a blind lunch date and dropped my location. I got to the location and walked in. Looked around and didn't see anyone by themselves. I walk out and call him. He was like I'm here and walking over. He was actually next door at the vitamin shop. Later I found out, he would have left if I was ugly. smh lol I guess I wasn't, so we enter Pyro's and order food. We sat and talked for about 3 hours. Pleasant conversation and I really enjoyed my free meal. Told him that I needed to run a few errands, before I head back home, and it was nice meeting him. I guess he didn't want the date to end, so he followed me to Costco. I had all types of stuff in my basket. Pampers, wipes, snacks, etc. We get to the checkout line and to my surprise he pays for it all. Now, I wasn't used to that....lol. A few days later, we went on a 2nd date. It was my kid free weekend, so I was interested. We had an amazing time, even though I think he set me up. After dinner, we went to the bar at Buckley's and many of his friends were there. They were all cool and was like...."ok Jr I see you. JayR, I like y’all together." Not sure of the conversations had after that, but I left them and went home. After that, the rest is history. My girls accidentally met him a month later. I was so adamant about not letting him meet them anytime soon. He saw them once at the beauty salon, but no interaction. But as soon as they saw him at the house, they ran up and hugged him. At this point, I'm like "Lord, what is this? These girls of mine don't fool with anyone." They played with him up until it was time to take our family photos. I got the girls' approval and we've been inseparable ever since.
